Huge disappointment

I was really looking forward to trying this out as I have been reading Paula Begoun's reviews on beautypedia and thought that this would be the ideal makeup remover as it is essentially made by her. I made the worst skincare mistake by buying a bottle of this and other samples of her products. My eyes stung me so much as soon as I used this to remove my mascara. It also didn't even do a very good job at removing it and I had to go back to using my Clarins remover as it is far gentler and more effective. Customer Care: Thank you for informing us about your findings .We are sorry to hear this product did not work well for you but are happy to hear you have found another option that does work better! Feel free to check out Paula's reviews on Beautypedia to see what other products she suggests that you may try. Please contact customer care with any questions.Product Rating

Great eye make-up remover

This is the best eye make-up remover I have used. I have sensitive eyes but do not have any problem with this and I find it removes even the most stubborn mascara. I have used other eye make=up removers in the past including those highly rated on Beautipedia, but I always come back to this. Great product! (Posted on 12/12/2011)Product Rating -
Good, but expensive.

It is gentle and effective, but there are a lot of eye makeup removers for less than half of price. (Posted on 15/11/2011)Product Rating -

delicate on skin yet it removes even waterproof mascara, without leaving your skin dry. I even use it sometimes all over the face (when I wear heavy foundation for example). If I run out of toner, I use this as toner instead after washing my face with the usual cleanser. Leaves skin soft. (Posted on 16/11/2009)Product Rating -

Before or after using the Paula's Choice cleanser for your skin type, shake the Gentle Touch Makeup Remover well. Pour a small amount (slightly less than half a teaspoon; add more if needed) onto a cotton ball or pad. Gently wipe over the eye area, lips, face or other areas where you want to remove makeup. Pay close attention not to pull or tug skin as you apply the product.
Makeup Remover Advice:
Excessive pressure is not required or recommended when removing makeup. If you are concerned that you cannot be gentle enough or your eyes are very sensitive, soak a cotton pad with Gentle Touch Makeup Remover and lightly press and hold the pad over eyelashes (top and bottom) and eyelids. Do not over-saturate the cotton ball or pad you're using. This will help to loosen the makeup and mascara, allowing your cleanser to easily complete removal of your makeup.
When using any makeup remover around the eyes, make sure you gently wipe outward, away from the eye's tear duct. As with all cosmetics, avoid direct contact with the eyes. If Gentle Touch Makeup Remover gets into the eyes, splash with water for several moments and pat dry.
Did You Know?
Gentle Touch Makeup Remover is an excellent spot treatment if you happen to get makeup on your clothing. Dab on shirt collars, lipstick smudges, or other makeup stains and then launder the garment as soon as possible.

Does it matter if I use Gentle Touch Makeup Remover before or after cleansing?
This really depends on personal preference. Using the remover prior to cleansing allows you to gently loosen eye makeup, mascara, and/or foundation prior to cleansing, and allows the remover to be rinsed off with the cleanser. Using the remover afterwards allows you to see where makeup may have "stuck" or where you may have missed with your cleanser. If you opt to use Gentle Touch Makeup Remover after cleansing, it is best to rinse with water to make sure all the product and makeup are gone.
