Very disappointing
Review by Kicki G

I had such great hopes for this product, but it started creasing almost right after application. I tried it with moisturizer under and without, but the results were the same. The thing is, when a PC-product is so bad as this one was, you feel as if it is you yourself who has somehow not understood how to apply it, perhaps used the wrong tools, had too warm fingertips. Because surerly PC can't fail?Customer Care ; Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your disappointment. .Please note that Paula's Choice has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee return policy within 30 days of purchase. I like the smooth and soft application of the product and it feels weightless. This product has more coverage and crease into lines very l.i.t.t.l.e. Overall, like it!!/ (Posted on 20/12/2011)Product Rating -
Best concealer I've ever tried
Review by Sophie

I have been using this concealer for years now, a couple of times being tempted to try other, big brands but each time coming back to this. I have very sensitive, reactive skin and this is the only concealer that hasn't irritated my skin or made it break out further. I don't suppose it would work well, or is intended for larger areas but for small blemishes applied with a brush, it blends really easily and covers well without being too thick. I find I have to mix the ivory and the neutral on the back of my hand to get the perect shade but have never found a better colour match anywhere else.Product Rating
Like the new packaging too. I dropped the old one on a tiled floor and it smashed, ended up doing the same with this one and it was fine!
I wouldn't be without it. (Posted on 03/05/2011) -
creases too much

I use concealer daily. I have dark circles and fine lines, and was disappointed to find this concealer creased very badly into lines soon after applying.Product Rating

Please note that if the skin under the eyes is dry and/or wrinkled, it does help to apply a lightweight moisturizer prior to concealer. Be aware that if the moisturizer is too greasy or applied too heavily, it will cause slippage of the concealer into facial lines. (Posted on 06/04/2011) -
Need for a darker shade
Review by Buffy Hunter Puffy Eyes

My skin isn't dark but "Soft Neutral" still remains too light. I think there's a need for a darker shade. Since it disappeared I wasn't able to continue buying this great concealer. I'm sure more users think the same but here in Europe people usually don't leave comments as American people do.Product Rating

Ok

I bought this about one year ago and almost have not used it, because it actually does crease into lines when you laugh, and the tone, although I did buy the lightest one, is still too dark, if only it were a little bit lighter then it would make a difference.I think a very pale shade should be added to this, as well as improve the creasing into lines problem, and maybe adding a spf 15 to it would be a great idea too.Product Rating

I'm not used to using concealer, but thougt i'd give it a go. The product itself is ok: easy to apply, doesn't sink into lines, light texture. But still, i don't use it a lot. Maybe i picked the wrong colour: i have fair skin so i picked the lightest shade as recommended. I don't see a big difference in using or not using it.Product Rating
The amercan reviews are mostly positive, but i can't compair to other concealers 'cause i never used them... (Posted on 28/05/2010)
Apply using your finger or a concealer brush to transfer the concealer in small dots or a light coat of color under the eye area. Depending on the technique you prefer, you can apply foundation first, then concealer or vice versa. Many women notice that they end up using less concealer if they apply their foundation first.
Blend gently along the undereye area using either your finger, a sponge (the sponge can be dry or slightly damp, depending on your blending preference), or a concealer brush. Concentrate the greatest amount of concealer over the darkest areas, and "feather" the edges so the concealer imperceptibly fades into the surrounding (non-dark) skin.
If you use a brush to apply concealer, it helps to use one that is synthetic (natural hairs will absorb the moisture from the concealer and can apply it unevenly) and has a tapered end. It should be firm but not scratchy. Place a dab of concealer on the brush and dab it on the darkest areas first. Use light pressure and keep your brush strokes small and controlled, almost as if you were "pressing" the concealer onto the skin. Once the product is on the skin, flip the brush over to the "clean" side and use this to lightly blend the concealer. Then, if you need a bit more, flip the brush again and use what is left from your initial application.
If the skin under the eyes is dry and/or wrinkled, it does help to apply a lightweight moisturizer prior to concealer. Be aware that if the moisturizer is too greasy or applied too heavily, it will cause slippage of the concealer into facial lines.
Soft Cream Concealer can be used to cover blemishes; however, the emollients and waxes in the formula are not the best ingredients to use on blemished areas. A good matte finish concealer is recommended for hiding blemishes. If the blemish has developed a scab or crust, do not apply any concealer as this will assuredly make it look worse.
Generally, if you wear a foundation, the concealer color should be one to two shades lighter than your foundation shade. Used alone, the concealer should match your skin color as closely as possible.
Concealer is also known as "highlighter" and can be used to do just that on the brow bone, the center of the chin, or in the creases that form from the sides of the nose to the mouth. Remember that light colors bring forward, darks recede!
Soft Cream Concealer can be applied to the eyelids to even out discolorations and provide a base for powder eyeshadows. If your eyelids tend to be oily, we recommend using a matte finish concealer or foundation instead.

What type of finish does Soft Cream Concealer have?
Soft Cream Concealer has a soft, satin-like finish. It never looks dry or cakey, nor will it make skin appear dull.
Is it OK to use Soft Cream Concealer on acne?
Ideally, no. The emollients and wax-like ingredients in this concealer are not the best to use on acne or blemish-prone areas. Liquid concealers with a matte finish are much better, and Paula recommends her favorites in her books and on her Web site www.Beautypedia.com.
